"Peninsula" Reaches 3 Million Moviegoers in Just 2 Weeks + Lee Re Shares Thoughts on Her Role
In just two weeks, "Train to Busan's" sequel, "Peninsula," surpasses three million moviegoers. The numbers are also expected to rise in the coming weeks.
Showing the cast members' gratitude to their followers and viewers as they reach this remarkable milestone, Director Yeon Sang-Ho, Kang Dong-Woon, Lee Jung-Hyun, and Lee Re shared a photo on Instagram with a cake.
The film reached one million moviegoers in less than four days and two million after a week of its release. The zombie movie landed the number one spot in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mongolia's box office. It will soon premiere in North America, Europe, and New Zealand in August.
Meanwhile, actress Lee Re shared how thankful she was with the director and cast for a successful movie and working well. She said director Yeon Sang-Ho ensured that she and the rest of the cast felt comfortable in the set. Although she started as a child actress, director Yeon treats her the same with the other co-stars.
She felt happy being able to work with actor Kang Dong Won. The young actress thought that because he was a famous actor, it would be difficult to get near him. While doing the film, Lee Re also described Kang Dong Won as warm-hearted, funny, and excellent at taking care of others.
She felt at ease with their scenes and learned a lot from him. Lee Re is glad to met Kang Dong Won and worked with him on this film. When it comes to actress Lee Jung Hyun, the rising star mentioned that she thought Lee Jung Hyun was a doll. "She is Lee Jung Hyun, really pretty in up close and personal!"
Though the first meeting was somewhat awkward, we get along well shared the Lee Re. According to Lee Re, she always has positive energy and praises me on the set. She is comfortable working with Lee Jung Hyun in every scene they had.
The young actress is on vacation for a couple of days while getting busy cooking along with her mother. She meets friends and bonded with her family for the past weeks.
Lee Re is also happy with her hairstyle for the film. She said it helped her character became more intensified and differentiated from her past projects. She then shared that working in the industry for a long time makes her dream of being a good versatile actress in the future. Lee Re wanted to be known for giving an excellent performance in every acting project that she does.
