‘Double Patty’ Movie Starring Red Velvet’s Irene and Shin Seung Ho Unveils New Stills
Newest Korean film "Double Patty" once again unveiled new stills and details regarding its upcoming release in cinemas!
"Double Patty" is a movie that will tell the story of young people who are unafraid to chase their dreams. Their journey in pursuing different paths will lead them to become better versions of themselves and find companions as the story begins to unfold.
The character of Lee Hyun Ji will be portrayed by Red Velvet member Irene, a persistent and aspiring woman who works endlessly in order to achieve all her goals in life. Opposite to her is actor Shin Seung Ho, who will be playing the role of Kang Woo Ram, a rising figure in the industry of ssireum (Korean wrestling), who is going through a hardship. These two people will cross paths amidst the challenges that they are facing, and their unexpected encounter will be the start of a new journey together.
During day time, Lee Hyun Ji works as a babysitter, while at night she turns into a part-time employee in a burger restaurant. She used to start her day by reading the newspaper and continue working nonstop all day. Apart from having work, Lee Hyun Ji is also maximizing her time to study. Irene's character is a representation of how an ordinary person strongly lives her life in pursuing dreams despite the tiring reality that she is facing.
She meets Kang Woo Ram, who always comes to the restaurant that she is working in and orders a 1+1 double patty every time before the burger restaurant closes, they begin to know each other and start to support each other in pursuing their dreams. This will be Irene's movie debut and many fans are already looking forward to seeing her acting.
In fact, in preparation for her acting debut, Irene received presentation lessons to be more familiar with her role. Acting coach Lee Ji In praised Irene for her determination in learning more about the industry that she is about to embark on, "Irene always reviewed what she learned, the way she analyzed and thought over the course was notable."
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old actor Shin Seung Ho who is also known for his appearances in the dramas such as "Moments of 18" and Netflix's "Love Alarm" will be showing another remarkable acting in the upcoming film "Double Patty".
Shin Seung Ho was also a soccer player in real life, he has been in the soccer industry for 11 years, his body figure is also perfectly fit for his character as Kang Woo Ram. He is expected to captivate the attention of the viewers with his unique acting, and charisma. On screen chemistry between Shin Seung Ho and Irene is now anticipated by many.
Director Baek Seung Hwan also shared why they chose Shin Seung Ho as one of the main leads, "When we were visualizing this particular scene, we had in mind an actor like Channing Tatum. When we met Shin Seung Ho, it feels like all our problems were solved. He has a good and humorous personality, plus his acting is really commendable, that is why he is the perfect fit for the character of Kang Woo Ram."
"Double Patty" will be having its premiere on Feb 17.
