Yoo Seung Ho and Girl’s Day Member Hyeri to Possibly Star in New Historical Drama

Korean drama leading man Yoo Seung Ho and "Reply 1988" actress Hyeri are in talks to be part of the forthcoming historical drama.

According to an official representative from a media outlet, Hyeri will be starring as the female lead in KBS 2TV's newest drama, "Thinking of the Moon When the Flower Blooms."

First Historical Drama for Hyeri

After the news, Girl's Day Hyeri's home agency Creative Group released their statement regarding the said project. According to them, "Our artist Hyeri received an offer to star in the new KBS 2TV series 'Thinking of the Moon When the Flower Blooms' and is currently reviewing the offer."

If the actress accepts the role, she is expected to play the character of Kang Ro Seo, whose beauty shines the brightest even when wearing scruffy clothing. She had lived a good life not until she reached the age of 13; she started to do various jobs to make money to support her mother's medication and her brother's school expenses. With all the work she had experienced, she has built extraordinary physical strength.

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's upcoming drama will happen during the period of the strongest prohibition law in the history of Joseon, showing human desire and proving that the best option is not prohibition. The main leads for these series are an inspector from the Office of the Inspector General who abandoned his hometown to pursue a new journey in Hanyang and bring back his family's status. Opposite to him is a poor noblewoman who starts to make and produce alcohol in order to pay all her debt and to support her family, and a known crown prince who secretly sneaks over the walls of the palace to get a few drinks with his friends.

Yoo Seung Ho and Hyeri Could Be The Next On Screen Partners!

These three individuals will be meeting each other in front of a secret alcohol storage and will discover a big secret that could lead them to death if revealed to the public. Meanwhile, "I'm Not A Robot" star Yoo Seung Ho has been revealed in the earlier days that he was also in talks to be part of the historical drama and is said to portray the role of the male lead as a bright and good looking inspector if he accepts the offer.

Kim Joo Hee will pen the script, and director Hwang In Hyuk, who also helmed "Doctor Prisoner," will be directing the drama. "Thinking of the Moon When the Flower Blooms" is expected to kick off in the second half of 2021.

This drama project is said to be the first historical drama that Hyeri will work on. Further details about the cast are yet to be announced. Stay tuned!
