From the previous episode, Seo Jin decided to rush the merging of JK Holdings and Cheong A Foundation after her stepmother and half-sister threatened to expose behind the perfect rendition in her recent concert. To stop them from making Seo Jin step down from being the director and altering the plans of her father by not pursuing the construction of the opera house, she had to hastily play her cards well and had no choice but to proceed with the merging even though it was against her will.

Joo Dan Tae's stock market has plummeted due to the scandal when Seo Jin was captured kissing a mysterious man and was all over the tabloids. The sinister Dan Tae thought of sending the confidential memorandum signed by Seo Jin and her ghost singer (Park Young-ran) to Seo Jin's stepmom. This was a wise move by Dan Tae as Seo Jin did not suspect him even just a little and accused Oh Yoon Hee who later revealed herself as the ghost singer behind her recent concert to have exposed that secret.
During the contract signing of the merger, it was very noticeable that Seo Jin was not pleased but has no choice but to stand for what she thinks was right to avoid being humiliated and ejected from power.
Overall, Seo Jin was overwhelmed by what was happening right after the festival because of the murder of Bae Ro Na. She later found out that the killer was her very own daughter Eun Byol. Apparently, she connived with his ex-husband Dr. Ha to conceal the crime by placing the murder weapon in Seo Kyung's locker.

The necklace, given by her father that was worn by Eun Byol during the concert was seen at the crime scene, but Dan Tae secretly intercepted the necklace which then made Seo Jin more anxious when it disappeared from the pocket of her coat.
With so much deceit, treachery and, thirst for power, it's no wonder why The Penthouse 2 seems to be adored by many. More viewers are avidly waiting for the next episodes and their ratings have constantly been increasing. Now, the Shim Su Ryeon is back and surprised many as she has risen from the dead. This has shocked the online community and of course, viewers have their own opinions and speculations if she is the real Shim Su Ryeon or not.
