Lots of idols are now investing their time in trying new things in their career, aside from excelling in music. These young artists are slowly building their names in the entertainment industry. It may be in movies, dramas, or even stage musicals.

Another NU'EST member to enter the acting industry. Following Hwang Minhyun and Baekho, NU'EST main rapper Kim Jong Hyun better known as JR, is about to make his drama debut.

Pledis Entertainment Confirmed that Kim Jong Hyun Will Be Making his Drama Debut with "I'll Become Your Night"

On April 9, Pledis Entertainment released their statement regarding Kim Jong Hyun's upcoming project. According to them, "NU'EST's Kim Jong Hyun (JR) is confirmed to star in a new idol romance series 'I'll Become Your Night' which is scheduled to kick off in the second half of 2021."

They also added, "Kim Jong Hyun will be showing a new side of his talent in the drama as he is about to play the role of Lee Shin. Please show lots of love and support to NU'EST member JR."

Things to Know About the New Idol Romance Series

As his first-ever lead role, JR will be immersing himself in the character of Lee Shin, a bassist of a popular band, LUNA. He is vigorous and will do everything to keep the love of his life. The forthcoming romance series "I'll Become Your Night" will depict the story of a popular idol and a fake doctor who ends up living at the same dorm to treat a sleepwalking member of the band.

The production for "I'll Become Your Night" is expected to begin in May and is scheduled to meet the viewers in the second half of this year (2021). More details regarding the cast lineup are yet to be announced.

NU'EST Members Showcasing Their Versatility as Young Artists

JR is the third member of NU'EST to enter the world of acting. Previously, Hwang Minhyun just finished his first lead drama with the school romance series "Live On." Last March, Pledis Entertainment also revealed that Baekho is preparing to make his first musical stage, "Midnight Sun."

These young artists are becoming more interested in being part of the growing population of idols who are involving themselves in a well-diverse industry.

Meanwhile, the popular K-Pop boy group is also gearing up for their comeback with their new album "Romanticize," to be released on April 19 at 6 p.m (KST)
