Shocking Story about Lee Je Hoon Diet Plan

Lee Je Hoon appeared as the lead star in the historical comedy-drama "Anarchist from Colony," where he played Park Yul, a founder of an anarchist group during the Japanese colonial period.

In his 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, the South Korean actor confessed that he intentionally starved himself to portray the role of Park Yul!

At the time, the host asked him, "Is it true that you didn't eat any food on the set," to which he answered with a yes, saying that it's true that he went on an extreme diet for the character.

He explained that the group founder protested against the Japanese occupation by not eating any food.

"I wanted to understand the suffering and struggle he went through before acting like him," he shared.

However, the "Anarchist from Colony" director Lee Joon Ik cleared that he was not responsible for Lee Je Hoon's diet at the time of the production even mentioned that he did not like the idea of the star skipping his meals.

In a separate interview, he mentioned that he only drank protein shakes for five to six weeks during the filming session. This is to replicate and transform himself as Park Yul.

Interestingly, on the last day of filming, Lee Je Hoon revealed that they had Tteokbokki, adding, "At that moment, I felt how intensely the joy of eating carbohydrates stimulates your brain."
