Namgoong Min Looks Savage in New 'The Veil' Stills

MBC's new spy drama series, starring Namgoong Min, shares a set of new still cuts, showing a glimpse of his upcoming role in the small screen.

The new action drama "The Veil" (also known as "Black Sun") tells the story of an elite top agent, Han Ji Hyuk, at the National Intelligence Service (NIS), who went missing for a whole year without any trace.

Agent Han Ji Hyuk returns as a member of a notorious crime syndicate to find the traitor who dropped him dead into the abyss.

The "Doctor Prisoner" will take on the role of the special top agent Han Ji Hyuk.

In the newly released stills, the 44-year-old star is fully armored as he holds a gun to his chest, worry and rage evidently shown in his face.

Han Ji Hyuk (Namgoong Min) is a top agent in NIS (National Intelligence Service) known for his superb performance and determination. 

The actor perfectly synchronizes with his character, effectively showing courage and power.

In the second photo, the actor wears a white shirt and a black tie, while blood drips down his forehead, which attracted attention and expectations.

Fans were curious and excited at the same time about Nam Goong-min's portrayal of the missing special agent Han Ji Hyuk.

Namgoong Min and Other "The Veil" Actors

'The Veil' is "Remember: War of the Son" actor Namgoong Min's first 2021 drama project on the small screen after starring in "Awaken" with AOA's Seolhyun, "Beautiful World" actress Lee Chung Ah, and "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor Yoon Sun Woo.

Alongside actor Nam Goong-min is "Dong Yi" actress Park Ha Sun who will play the role of Seo Soo Yeon, the head of the Center for Criminal Information Investigation.

"Hell Is Other People" actress Kim Ji Eun also joins the cast as Yoo Je Yi, Han Ji Hyuk's (Namgoong Min) partner and co-worker.

Jang Young Nam, Kwon So Hyun, and experienced actors Kim Byung Ki, Lee Geung Young, and Yu Oh Seong are also part of the cast ensemble.

The star-studded cast and production team are expected to add strength to its already powerful storyline.

The different generations of actors of the new drama "The Veil" and their amazing acting skills will surely exceed fans' high expectations.

"The Veil" Pre-Production and Release Date

The new action spy drama series "The Veil" is currently in the middle of filming. It was helmed by Director Kim Seong Yong and screenwriter Park Seok Ho.

The production team shared that "The Veil" lead actor Nam Goong-min worked hard for his new role, Han Ji Hyuk, from mastering his infamous piercing gaze, to the tone of his voice, and his actions.

"Please look forward to seeing Namgoong Min in the new drama 'The Veil'. It will not only give you Namgoong Min's brilliant acting skills but also a variety of entertaining details," they said.

"The Veil" is scheduled to premiere in September 2021 on MBC.
