Son Ye Jin in Talks to Work with Kang Ha Neul and Youn Yuh Jung in a New Drama

Before her drama “Thirty Nine” premieres, Son Ye Jin is already in discussion to work on another project alongside Oscar winner Youn Yuh Jung and Kang Ha Neul.
It was reported on September 29 that Oscar Best Actress Winner Youn Yuh Jung, “Crash Landing on You “ actress Son Ye Jin, and “Midnight Runners” star Kang Ha Neul received casting offers to lead the upcoming drama “A Tree Dies Standing.”

On the same day, Youn Yuh Jung’s agency Hook Entertainment confirmed that the Minari actress received the drama proposal and is currently reviewing it. In addition, Son Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul are reportedly considering the project.
The story of “A Tree Dies Standing” is about a man who plays the role of a defecting grandson in order to fulfill the last wish of an elderly grandmother who came from North Korea.

Early in September, Youn Yuh Jung was also confirmed to work in a new film "Dog Days" where she will be working for the first time with "Pawn" actress Kim Yun Jin and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" actor Kim Seon Ho. The production for the film will begin in December 2021.

Meanwhile, different from her role in "CLOY" who came from a chaebol family, Son Ye Jin is offered to play as Se Yeon, Geum Soon's granddaughter. She climbs up from the bottom of the chaebol family and takes charge of the properties, especially the paradise that they owned.
Kang Ha Neul to Play the Role of a Theater Actor in A Trees Dies Standing
"Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor Kang Ha Neul is expected to portray the character of an unknown theater actor from North Korea.
“A Tree Dies Standing “is scheduled to air in the second half of 2022. Victory Contents is in charge of the production and is aiming to start filming in the first half of 2022. It will be penned by “Midnight Runners” scriptwriter and director Kim Joo Hwan.
