On Monday, April 11, the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards nominees were announced. Fans and viewers expressed their disappointment after the hit series "Hospital Playlist" and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" failed to score nominations.

During the dramas' broadcast, "Hospital Playlist" and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" significantly changed television history with its buzzworthy elements.
"Hospital Playlist" starring Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung and Jeon Mi Do topped the Netflix Global charts in various countries like South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Mexico and more.

It became the ninth highest rated series in cable television history, scoring an average rating of 14.1% during its final week.
Because of the public's response, "Hospital Playlist" released its second season. The pilot episode scored a solid 10% viewership, setting the highest premiere ratings in tvN's history.

In particular, it received multiple nominations for its screenplay, actors and drama story at the APAN Star Awards, Asia Artist Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards in 2020.

"Hospital Playlist" won Best Drama in the same year at the Brand of the Year Awards, along with Jo Jung Suk and Jeon Mi Do who received nods as Best Actor and Best New Actress Respectively.

Meanwhile, Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho's "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" ranked first during its entire run among other weekend dramas, and became one of the highest rated series in television history.
In the final week, the drama achieved a 13% nationwide rating with over 3.2 million views. It also became one of the most-watched non-English television shows in many countries outside South Korea.

With that said, fans and viewers expressed their disappointment in the online Hallyu community.

They were pretty much riled up after the two hit series failed to score a nomination at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.
With the milestones and achievements that the two dramas have under their belts, "Hospital Playlist" and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" without a doubt deserve its recognition and acclaim.

Although the two series weren't nominated in any categories, another tvN series made it to the top!

Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk's "Twenty Five, Twenty One," which was well-received by the public and enjoyed an all-time high viewership scores, is nominated for the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2022.

In addition to that, Kim Tae Ri, who led the drama, also received a nomination for the Best Actress Award Television Division, competing with big names like Kim Hye Soo and Han So Hee.
Furthermore, the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 6, 2022 at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province at 7:45 p.m. KST.
