IN THE LOOP: ‘Alien’ Premiere, Current K-dramas Releasing New Episode This Week
As we reach the year's second half, viewers have a slew of new shows and movies to binge-watch this July 2022. For the third week of the month, a star-studded sci-fi movie is set to hit the big screen. In addition, current K-dramas from makjang series to webtoon-based and mystery comedies get interesting every episode.

One of the most talked about films this July is none other than the star-studded sci-fi film "Alien."
Directed by Choi Dong Hoon of "The Thieves" and "Assassination," the movie follows the story of a mysterious portal that connects Taoists of the late Goryeo dynasty to the present world in hopes of finding the legendary sword.
On the other hand, the present day is dominated by aliens who are disguised as humans. Because of this, a series of chaotic situations occur.

"Alien" stars a roster of Hallyu's A-listers with Kim Woo Bin, Kim Tae Ri, and Ryu Jun Yeol as lead stars.
Interestingly, viewers would see the trio's chemistry with So Ji Sub, Yeom Jung Ah, Kim Eui Sung, Lee Honey, and more.
While "Alien" officially debuts on July 20, several stars like Jung Hae In, Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Kwang Soo, Lee Jung Jae, and Jung Woo Sung attended the VIP premiere.
Current K-Drama: 'Yumi's Cells 2'
Release: Friday and Saturday
Fans of the webtoon-based series "Yumi's Cells 2" are excited to witness Kim Yumi's whirlwind romance with her ex and current boyfriend.
The weekend K-drama stars Kim Go Eun as the titular character with GOT7's Jinyoung and Ahn Bo Hyun, reprising their roles as Yoo Babi and Goo Wong.
In the upcoming episode, the drama will showcase the engagement of Yoo Babi and Yumi based on the teaser. But unfortunately, it seems like the couple is about to face another relationship crisis.
Interestingly, Kim Go Eun recently won Best Actress at the 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards for her portrayal of Kim Yumi.
Current K-Drama: 'Eve'
Release: Wednesday and Thursday
Seo Ye Ji's comeback drama "Eve" is about to bid goodbye as it heads into its final week.
After the stressful weeks of witnessing Lee Ra El's (Seo Ye Ji) revenge against Kang Yoon Kyum (Park Byung Eun) and her intense encounter with Han So Ra (Yoo Sun), the question arises if she will succeed at her mission to avenge her father who the Han family brutally murdered.
"Eve" episode 15 and 16 is scheduled to air on July 20 and 21 via tvN.
Current K-drama: 'Cafe Minamdang'
Release: Monday and Tuesday
Oh Yeon Seo, Seo In Guk
Seo In Guk returns, giving viewers an entertaining journey featuring the criminal profiler turned fake shaman, Nam Han Joon, in "Cafe Minamdang."
After his childhood friend was murdered by a serial killer whom they named Gopuri, he and his team will do whatever it takes to arrest the culprit.
"Cafe Minamdang" also stars Oh Yeon Seo as Lieutenant Han Jae Hee, the sister of Gopuri's victim.
Like Nam Han Joon, she is also determined to hunt down the suspect.
