Kim Rae Won Details Challenges Doing Car Chasing Scenes Without CGI for New Movie ‘Decibel’

After three years, Kim Rae Won returns to the big screen with the star-studded movie "Decibel."

During the press conference, ahead of the much-awaited premiere, the actor is joined by fellow lead stars Lee Jong Suk, Jung Sang Hoon, Park Byung Eun, and Cha Eun Woo along with director Hwang In Ho to talk about their experience filming the movie.

At the media briefing, Kim Rae Won reveals what to expect and the difference of "Decibel" to other action drama movies.

Kim Rae Won's Car Chase Scene in 'Decibel' Had No CGI Effects

During the interview, the 57-year-old top star pointed out that he and the team "paid attention to the realism", especially with the production.

As obtained by a media outlet, Kim Rae Won shared that "Decibel" will showcase a lot of "vehicle action and underwater shooting" which includes the actor jumping from a high-rise building and doing car chase scenes.

Describing the scene as "challenging" he said that he focuses more on his stunts and how they will turn out more "realistic" to viewers.

"I didn't pay much attention to the character because the director's script was solid," he said, adding "I paid more attention to the realism of the incident rather than the effort on the character."

In "Decibel" Kim Rae Won took the role of former Navy commander Kang Do Young who becomes the target of the terrorist attack.

He says that Kang Do Young suffered a lot to prevent the terrorist threat after getting a call from a mysterious person regarding the shocking plan.

Hinting at what to expect in "Decibel" the lead star shared that there is a car scene where an accident is bound to happen with him doing the stunts.

Joining Kim Rae Won in the movie "Decibel" is Lee Jong Suk portrays a Navy captain while Cha Eun Woo plays a Navy submarine sound detection sergeant.

In a separate report, the award-winning actor lauded Cha Eun Woo's performance.

As the press conference continued, Kim Rae Won said that the singer-actor "worked really hard" despite the difficulty in the scene which came out "really well."

On the other hand, Cha Eun Woo feels honored to star along with senior actors whom he was only watching on tv when he was young.

"Decibel" is an action-packed movie directed by Hwang In Ho, who is the genius behind the movies "Spellbound" and "Monster."

Following the intriguing teaser released by the distribution company, the upcoming film is slated to hit the big screen on November 16, 2022
