Director Miike Takashi and Go Kyung Pyo talk about the transformation of the actor's character as he plays the villain in "Connect."

The renowned Japanese filmmaker and 32-year-old actor graced the press conference in Singapore along with fellow stars Jung Hae In and Kim Hye Joon.

At the media briefing, Go Kyung Pyo shares his experience and thoughts about his new role.

Go Kyung Pyo on His First Time Playing a Psychopath in 'Connect'

During the "Connect" press conference, Go Kyung Pyo mentioned that it was his first time playing a psychopath role in a series.

In the upcoming thriller mystery drama, he took the role of Oh Jin Seop, a psychopath serial killer, who was the receiver of Ha Dong Go's eyes, played by Jung Hae In.

However, after sharing the same organ with Dong Go, Oh Jin Seop has a similar perspective with his donor.

With this, Go Kyung Pyo shared that he tried to show a different side of him that viewers have never seen in his previous projects.

"It's the first time I've expressed a character, so I think you'll see it in a new way," he said, adding "The atmosphere of the drama is also a new genre, so I think it will provide a lot of interest."

On the other hand, "Connect" director Miike Takashi explained why he chose the South Korean star to play the psychopath killer despite his boy-next-door looks.

As explained by the Japanese director, Oh Jin Seop is far different from the usual serial killer.

"When you think of a psychopath, you usually think of it as being cold-hearted with no expression, and with a slim body without flesh." he said, but he chose Go Kyung Pyo whom he described as someone with a "slightly chubby" physique, exuding a "cute psychopath" vibe.

Moreover, the director also shared how Go Kyung Pyo was very different from his character, revealing how chatty and friendly he is on the set.

"He was an actor who laughed and chatted on set but fully immersed himself in the filming. He was a very lovable presence overall," he added.

"Connect" will be released on December 7 via Disney+.

From the Timid Prosecutor in 'Love in Contract' to All Out Fanboy at the Awarding Ceremony

Go Kyung Pyo recently finished his rom-com K-drama with Park Min Young and Kim Young Jae as the trio stars in "Love in Contract."

In the drama, he took the role of socially awkward prosecutor Jung Ji Ho who is a longtime client of Choi Sang Eun (Park Min Young.)

Interestingly, Go Kyung Pyo recently made headlines after going all out at the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The actor made the audience laugh with his antics after he was spotted cheering and dancing on NewJeans singing "Hype Boy" as well as on Zioc's performance.
