Just like the ever-talented "Reply 1988" star Lee Dong Hwi.
He made a debut in 2013 in the movie "South Bound." Though he was in his late twenties before he discovered his calling, he managed to influence by exhibiting excellent acting skills and appearing in more than 3 projects in a year.
In 2015, two years after he entered the show business, Lee Dong Hwi talked about his role as Ryu Dong Ryung in the tvN hit drama "Reply 1988."
With his comical and clever acting, the actor easily invoked laughter in viewers. His ad-libs also made the viewers enjoy his presence.
Lee Dong Hwi Dubbed as 'Ad-Lib Genius'
During one of his iconic scenes, where Ryu Dong Ryong looked for Duk Sun (Lee Hyeri) with his foggy glasses, he cleared his throat before joining a singing competition. Many other scenes were spontaneously created, thanks to Lee Dong Hwi's humorous ad-libs.

In his past movies "The Beauty Inside" and "The Bros," where Dong Hwi collaborated with veteran actors Kim Hee Won and Ma Dong Seok, respectively, the "Glitch" star wowed his co-actors as he came up with his idea and ended delivering iconic lines.

Lee Dong Hwi also appeared in "Extreme Job" in 2019, where he screamed when he failed to sleep due to the chicken restaurant doing well. It has been revealed that it was also an ad-lib.
Over time, Lee started to be called "ad-lib genius."

However, according to him, the secret behind such humorous lines is his poor memorization.
In a released report, Lee even said that he is not that smart, and so ad-lib is his way to avoid NGs while shooting.
As a result, directors even ask him if he got ad-libs to share whenever starting filming a project. Lee Dong Hwi revealed that since he has to prepare for impromptu lines in a short period of time, he gets envious of actors who followed the script.
However, later on, the celebrity gained confidence after accepting that he received that ad-libs are a crucial reason why he received a high salary.
