Lee Seung Gi Celebrates Birthday Through Meaningful Activities

Lee Seung Gi celebrates his birthday by sharing a meaningful activity to the less fortunate.

Amid the ongoing dispute with his then-agency, the triple threat star has donated millions of won to his chosen organization, Red Cross Korea.

Lee Seung Gi Gives Back to Red Cross Korea

According to media outlets, the award-winning actor honored his special day by giving 550 million won to the Korean Red Cross to support various causes.

Among which includes funding the production of a mobile meal service vehicle used for disaster relief activities as well as a blood donation bus.

During the ceremony, Korean Red Cross chairman Shin Hee Young acknowledged the generosity of the top star, giving him an honorary certificate for donors who have donated over 500 million won or roughly $403,000 as cumulative donations.

With this, Lee Seung Gi took to Instagram, revealing why he chose to have this activity on his birthday.

In a lengthy message, he said that he "wanted to offer practical help in disaster situations" and would be nice to give volunteers "warm meals" and will be dispatched quickly to serve 50,000 meals.

Moreover, he also hoped that his donation would be a big help in emergencies and people "suffering from disaster and diseases."

Lastly, Lee Seung Gi also acknowledged the help of people who made the donation drive happen, adding "I express my feelings of respect for them" before wishing fans and supporters "a happy new year and good health.

Recently, the actor delivered great news to his chosen institute after giving 2 billion won or approximately $1.6 million donation to the Seoul National University Children's Hospital.

This is through his unpaid earnings after working as a singer for Hook Entertainment for 18 years.

At the time, the hospital revealed that the actor personally visited them and witnessed the difficulties they faced daily, treating the pediatric patients because of the infrastructural issues.

As part of the rehabilitation, Seoul National University Children's Hospital is looking into the possibility of naming one of their wards "Lee Seung Gi Ward" to acknowledge and express their gratitude to the actor.

Lee Seung Gi's Dispute with Hook to Movie

While the end of 2022 was chaotic to the actor after it was revealed that Hoo Entertainment has not given Lee Seung Gi his share of his album revenues for the past 18 years, causing him to leave his agency.

Interestingly, the actor surprised fans after donning a massive transformation.

Transforming into a monk, the top star headlines the upcoming film along with versatile star Kim Yoon Seok.
