Jang Ki Yong's Military Discharge Rumored on THIS Date

Time flies so fast as the South Korean star Jang Ki Yong is rumored to have his military discharge anytime soon. The 30-year-old celebrity, who enlisted as an active duty soldier on August 23, 2021, is set to return to after fulfilling his military duties.

Jang Ki Yong's Military Discharge

In a report cited by a media outlet, Jang Ki Yong's military discharge will be on February 22. After 2 years and six months since his enlistment, the actor has completed serving in the army and is ready to have his bold return as a celebrity. 

However, Jang Ki Yong's agency, YG Entertainment, said that there is no official statement yet regarding his discharge.

"There is no official event related to (Jang Ki-yong's) discharge that is currently being planned," a representative told JTBC News.

As mentioned, Jang Ki Yong officially enlist as an active duty soldier in August after wrapping up his K-drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up" with Song Hye Kyo.

At the time, the romance series has been receiving a lot of praise from the public despite the mixed reactions between him and the Hallyu queen's team-up.

Moreover, during his enlistment, his agency chose not to reveal the time and location "to prevent the spread of COVID-19" and for the safety of the fans and reporters.

Interestingly, his colleagues sent him a heartfelt farewell, wishing him all the best for his enlistment. It includes the "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" co-star Kim Do Wan, who uploaded a selfie on his Instagram along with the actor. He also expressed a sweet message, saying, "Take good care of your health. I'll miss you."

Apart from it, the "Now, We Are Breaking Up" cast also had a mini get-together before his official enlistment.

Song Hye Kyo, Kim Joo Heon, Park Hyo Joo, and Yoon Na Moo shared a group photo with a message that reads "Ki Yong, we love you!"

What's Next for Jang Ki Yong After Military Discharge?

Now that Jang Ki Yong will officially return to his civilian life, the public is ready to welcome him by supporting his comeback shows.

However, YG entertainment also mentioned that they do not have special activities planned yet following his military discharge.

The 30-year-old star began his career as a model and eventually entered acting with his debut in the 2014 drama "It's Okay, That's Love."

From then on, he continues to captivate viewers with his K-drama such as "Go Back Couple," "My Ahjussi," "Come and Hug Me," and "Search: WWW," and a lead role in "My Roommate is a Gumiho."
