Song Joong Ki Movies: Top Star's Upcoming Films as He Returns on the Big Screen

Song Joong Ki is making it to the headlines as the Korean top star surprised the public with his marriage. Interestingly, besides being off the market, the Hallyu star is set to headline back-to-back movies this 2023.

From confirming his relationship with Katy Louise Saunders, the 37-year-old actor announced that he has registered their marriage. As for the wedding, Song Joong Ki's agency revealed that the couple is planning to hold a ceremony. However, they added that "no specific time or schedule has been set yet."

Apart from that, the "Reborn Rich" star also announced that they are expecting their first child.

While the couple is gearing up for the coming of their newborn and at the same time living as husband and wife, Song Joong Ki is slated to have multiple projects this year.

From the much-awaited movie "Bogotá: City of the Lost" to his two more movies, here's a rundown on what to expect from Song Joong Ki on the big screen.

'Bogotá: City of the Lost'

At the height of the pandemic, Song Joong Ki's movie "Bogotá: City of the Lost" faced numerous setbacks since health restrictions in various countries were implemented.

From one suspension to another, the team halted production in Bogota, Colombia due to COVID-19 related issues.

After months of filming, the team officially wrapped up the shoot in October 2021. According to an outlet, Song Joong Ki spoke about how special the movie is since they "overcome many hurdles, and good results will pour out as much as the hurdles are overcome."

"Bogotá: City of the Lost" follows the story of a Korean man in his 30s who emigrated to Colombia. It focuses on a group of people struggling to survive in the country.

Joining the top star as lead stars are Lee Hee Joon, Kwon Hae Hyo, Jo Hyun Chul, and Colombian actress and dancer Juana del Río.

'Hopeless'

Another Song Joong Ki's movie set to be released this year is "Hopeless," also known as "Hwaran."

The upcoming noir film depicts the story of a young man named Yeon Gyu, played by "Tune in for Love" actor Hong Sa Bin. He wants to escape the cruel life and unexpectedly meets Chi Geon, portrayed by Song Joong Ki. Joining the duo as lead stars is BIBI as Ha Yan.

Following the confirmation regarding the movie, Song Joong Ki will appear with "no guarantee" or no pay to support director Kim Chang Hoon's first project as a filmmaker.

'My Name Is Loh Kiwan'

Adding to the list of Song Joong Ki's new movies is "My Name Is Loh Kiwan."

Based on the novel, the top star will transform into North Korean defector Loh Ki Wan, and will headline the series along with Choi Sung Eun.

Recently, Song Joong Ki flew to Hungary with his wife to film "My Name Is Loh Kiwan."
