Krystal Jung To Attend 76th Cannes Film Festival

Since the announcement of Cannes Film Festival's Official Selection of films, Hallyu fans couldn't hide their exhilaration!

Five amazing works helmed by South Korean filmmakers will be screened at the distinguished event, and one of them is Kim Jee Won's "Cobweb."

On May 9, it was announced that the film will be screened on May 25 at the 76th Cannes Film Festival for the out of competition section.

"Cobweb" is a black comedy film starring Song Kang Ho, Im Soo Jung, Jeon Yeo Bin, Oh Jung Se and Krystal Jung which depicts the life of an obsessive director who struggles to complete his new film amidst the competitive industry in the 1970s.

Krystal Jung takes on the role of Han Yu Rim who headlines Song Kang Ho's Director Kim's film. She's a haughty rising star who gets caught up in a huge scandal with a prestigious actor.

On May 10, Krystal Jung confirmed to attend the official press conferences and red carpet events at the prestigious festival alongside Director Kim Jee Won and the rest of the cast of "Cobweb."

The idol-actress expressed her excitement by saying, "I feel so honored to be invited to the Cannes Film Festival. It's been a dream since the beginning of my acting career."

She described "Cobweb" as a project that made her heart shake in anticipation and satisfaction. Through the film, she promised fans to greet as an improved actress Krystal Jung.

On the other hand, "Cobweb" will be screened on May 25 at 10:30 p.m. KST at the Lumiere Grand Theater, followed by the press conference on May 26.

The production unit of "Cobweb" hasn't released the official date for the film's domestic premiere. However, it's aimed to be released within 2023 so stay tuned for updates!

'76th Cannes Film Festival' Further Details & What We Know

Apart from Kim Jee Won's "Cobweb," James Mangold's "Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny" and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" will also be screened for the out of competition category.

Sam Levinson's "The Idol," which stars BLACKPINK Jennie, is also invited to the show.

Song Joong Ki's noir film "Hopeless," Ju Ji Hoon's disaster film "Project Silence," Lee Sun Kyun's disaster film "Sleep" and Ki Joo Bong's "In Our Day" will also be screened to the festival in different sections.

Meanwhile, the 76th Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 16 to 27 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in France.
