'Doctor Cha' Apologizes For Crohn's Disease Misinformation Issue

JTBC's "Doctor Cha" production unit apologized for the portrayal of Crohn's disease in the recent episode of the drama, which earned outrage from the viewers.

On May 10, the broadcast network released a statement where the production unit expressed their gratitude to the fans who loved "Doctor Cha."

The production unit also showed their remorse for hurting the feelings of patients and their families with the seventh episode which dealt with Crohn's disease which deals with a chronic inflammation in the digestive system from the mouth to the anus.

In the series, the patient was berated for having the hereditary ailment and because of the abuse, he has decided to take his own life.

This put the patients who suffer from the disease in real life in jeopardy as many have experienced extreme bullying in school after the episode was released.
