Black Knight Cast

Since its premiere, "Black Knight," which stars Kim Woo Bin, has continued to receive success, landing the post-apocalyptic series as one of the most-watched tv series after entering Netflix's global top 10.

Joining hit series like the period drama "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," the six-part episode K-drama is unstoppable after landing second in the global rankings. This only shows that viewers are hooked on the webtoon based series.

In "Black Knight," the story revolves around the lives of humans after a comet almost crushed the Earth, but as a result, it left the planet with a limited supply of oxygen.

Interestingly, this is where the delivery men come in. The legendary 5-8, who is known as one of the best delivery men, is not only delivering essentials to the survivors but also helping refugees.

If you can't get enough of Kim Woo Bin's new drama, here are 3 facts about Netflix's "Black Knight."

"Black Knight" Director Wants Kang Yoo Seok to be an 'Action Monster'

While "Black Knight" includes top stars like Song Seing Heun and Kim Woo Bin, up-and-coming actor Kang Yoo Seok impressed not just the viewers with his amazing performance but also director Cho Ui Seok.

He once revealed what the "Black Knight" director told him after passing the audition.

As mentioned by a media outlet, he recalled that Director Cho Ui Seok wanted him to "become an action monster" for the character of Sa Wol.

Since the character required a lot of physical activities, he engaged himself in exercise and practiced for fight scenes.

"Three months prior to production, I worked out every day with the stunt team. I built a lot of physical strength through that process, and when it came time to shoot the action scenes," he said.

Kim Woo Bin's Smoking Scene is Purely CG

After the premiere, viewers raised concern regarding Kim Woo Bin's scene, smoking a cigar in "Black Knight."

Since the actor had just recovered from nasopharyngeal cancer, fans are worried that the series might affect his health.

However, Director Cho Ui Seok assured viewers that they prioritized Kim Woo Bin's health and explained that the said scene was 100 percent computer graphics.

Esom Gained the Moniker 'Som-dier'

Esom once again portrayed a badass role in "Black Knight."

Playing the Defense Intelligence Command major Seol Ah, she needs to have a tough exterior, and as part of her preparation, she revealed working out and doing stunt practices a lot.

However, the "Black Knight" director says she doesn't need much of it and instead, she should focus on gun handling.

At the press conference, the media named her som-dier, a word play for her name, Esom, and the word soldier.
