Kim Bum Expresses Affection To 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938' Co-Star Lee Dong Wook

As the fantasy-romance series garners attention for its unique plot and amazing lineup, the 33-year-old South Korean heartthrob swoons viewers with his charm as he returns as Lee Rang. He is a half-gumiho and Lee Yeon's (Lee Dong Wook) half-brother.

During his recent interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, Kim Bum spoke about his preparation for the role.

Before playing the role of a half-gumiho (or a nine-tailed fox in Korean mythology), he said that he would look at and watch documentaries about it as part of his preparation and "research how to move" like them.

As for his working relationship with Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum said he feels like he's his hyung, or big brother, to him.

However, when asked who he would introduce to his sister, would it be the real-life Lee Dong Wook or Lee Yeon from "Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938"?

The 33-year-old star had a surprising answer and said that he wouldn't introduce his little sister to Lee Dong Wook!

"What if I don't like both of them? I hate both," he said, adding, "I personally like Dong Wook hyung very much, but introducing him to my younger sister is another problem".

Following his interesting answer, he ended up choosing Lee Yeon and said that the real Lee Dong Wook is "too busy" and that "it's hard to even see his face."

"In the drama, gumihos only look at one person for the rest of their lives when they love someone," he said, referring to Lee Yeon as a gumiho.

Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook's drama, "Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938," is a fantasy-romance series that depicts the story of mythical creatures returning to the modern world. For the second season, it revolves around the chaotic era of 1938.

Joining the duo as lead stars are Kim So Yeon as the mountain goddess Ryu Hong Joo and Ryu Kyung Soo as doctor Cheon Moo Young.
