From its much-awaited comeback to the show's double-digit rating, there's no denying that "Dr. Romantic 3" is definitely among the most watched K-dramas this year.

Viewers were thrilled to see the reunion between the OG cast members, from Han Suk Kyu reprising his role as the legendary Kim Sa Bu, to collegues turned lovers Seo Woo Jin and Cha Eun Jae, down to the heartfelt stories of Doldam staff.

In addition, the SBS medical K-drama also features three new cast members. One of whom is Lee Hong Nae, who is a rookie doctor who entered Doldam Hospital. Playing the role of Lee Seon Wung, his character was first introduced in episode 1 as a military doctor.

Due to his passion and determination to help patients, Kim Sa Bu hired him as one of the doctors at Doldam after witnessing how compassionate he is for the patients.

As the medical K-drama enters its second half, Lee Hong Nae captivates viewers with his charm and amazing performance. Interestingly, he appeared in various K-dramas along with top stars.

Who is Lee Hong Nae?

Debuting in 2014, he first starred in the film "Fire in Hell" but gained the public's attention after joining the cast of Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun's "The King: Eternal Monarch," where he played the role of the second captain of the Royal Guards, Suk Ho Pil.

That same year, he also became a part of the hit K-drama "The Uncanny Counter," along with Kim Se Jeong, Jo Byung Gyu, and more, and took on the role of evil spirit host Ji Chung Shin.

In a previous interview, he spoke about his skyrocketing fame brought by the OCN series.

Moreover, he also said that a fan once asked if she could take a photo with him.

"There was even a time when I went to the gym and ended up taking pictures with people for a whole hour," he revealed, adding, "They would say their son was my fan, their girlfriend was my fan, although there was never anyone who said they themselves were my fan."

However, Lee Hong Nae recalled an unfortunate instance when people didn't recognize him because of his hair.

"After I grew out my hair recently, nobody recognizes me, which is kind of unfortunate," he said.

In the same interview, he also shared how he landed the role in the movie "Made on the Rooftop," where he plays the lead character.

Although he was casted for the 2021 film before joining "The Uncanny Counter," he shared that the comedy-action K-drama made a huge impact on his movie.

"But thankfully, the strong impact I had when playing Ji Chung Shin has shed light on the dramatic transformation that I will show through my portrayal of Ha Neul in this film," he explained.
