Yoo Ah In's initial statement says he used to smoke marijuana alone. However, during the warrant review, he revealed that he smoked marijuana with several people.

Following Yoo Ah In's reversal of statement, police are looking into whether to re-apply for a request for an arrest warrant for further investigation.

Court Rejects Request for Arrest Warrant Against Yoo Ah In

Following the second private summons, Yoo Ah In appeared before the Seoul court on May 24 around 10:30 a.m. KST, where a group of media was waiting for him.

Hours later, he was transferred to Mapo Police Station detention center as he awaited the court's decision.

During his transfer to the detention center, Yoo Ah In was seen by the public in a different light as his hands were tied while he briefly spoke to the media for a statement.

At the time, he "admits the majority of the accusation" but denied that he "attempted to flee the accomplice," as what the police were claiming.

After almost 13 hours of waiting, the Seoul court official issued a decision rejecting the request of police for the issuance of arrest warrant against the actor.

As obtained by media outlets, the court saw it as "unecessary" to the case since they have gathered enough evidence for the investigation.

"It is difficult to conclude that there is concern about destroying evidence or fleeing," the court ruling says, adding, "the fact that a large amount of evidence related to the crime has already been secured."

It pertains to Yoo Ah's admitting the majority of the accusations, particularly the drug use.

Moreover, the court also pointed out that the actor has "no history of crimes of the same type," making it one of the reasons for dismissal of the warrant of arrest request.

To recall, Yoo Ah In tested positive for four types of drugs after undergoing hair strand and urine tests. The said drugs include marijuana, cocaine, ketamine, and propofol.

The drug scandal is also a major blow to his career, affecting his endorsement deals and upcoming projects, including Netflix's "Hellbound."
