Finally, after months of initial selection, SF9's Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun are confirmed to headline the upcoming K-drama "The Battle of Marriage."

According to a report, the singer-actor and "All of Us Are Dead" star were tapped to play the main characters of the historical series.

Rowoon, Cho Yi Hyun to Play as Couple in 'The Battle of Marriage'

Cho Yi Hyun takes on the role of Jung Soon Deok, a young widow who is among the four maidens on the quest to find a suitable husband.

Interestingly, what makes Jung Soon Deok special is that, besides her charm, she knows how to read romance novels and is knowledgeable about martial arts. Plus, she is also a skilled runner.

Meanwhile, Rowoon is set to play the character of Shim Jung Woo. Known for his brilliant mind, he is the youngest person to pass the manor exam.

Besides the couple's unique marriage, the story will also focus on how Jung Soon Deok and Shim Jung Woo's pasts were similar. Like Soon Deok, Jung Woo is also a widower. His wife passed away due to a sudden death, turning his life around.

Because of this, he ends up creating a matchmaking business with a mission to find young maidens their potential husbands as per the King's instructions.

Interestingly, "The Battle of Marriage" is SF9 Rowoon's return to historical K-drama.

To recall, he headlined the hit sageuk "The King's Affection" together with Park Eun Bin.

Meanwhile, the upcoming series might be Cho Yi Hyun's first historical K-drama. With their new team-up, this raises anticipation for the lead stars performances as well as their on-screen chemistry as a couple.

On the other hand, following the confirmation of the lead stars, "The Battle of the Wedding" plans to have its release date set for October 2023.
