Choi Sung Eung is preparing to return to the limelight with the high scale film "My Name is Loh Kiwan" with Song Joong Ki.

The actress has starred in various series but yet to take on a big break. Luckily, the new Netflix film is believed to cement her name in the acting scene.

Choi Sung Eun Becomes Song Joong Ki's New Leading Lady

The 28-year-old star is gearing up for her long awaited return to the acting scene with Netflix's "My Name is Loh Kiwan."

Choi Sung Eun transforms into Mari, a Korean-born Belgian woman who falls in love with a defector after discovering salvation in him while helping him assimilate in the country.

"My Name is Loh Kiwan" is Song Joong Ki's comeback film where he plays the titular role, a North Korean defector who flees to Belgium.

The film is based on the novel "I Met Loh Kiwan" by Cho Hae Jin, which won the Shin Dong Yup Prize for Literature in 2013.

It boasts a star-studded cast including Jo Han Chul, Kim Sung Ryong, Lee Il Hwa, Lee Sang Hee and Seo Hyun Woo, which raises excitement among fans.

"My Name is Loh Kiwan" finished filming in Hungary with the guidance of Kim Hee Jin. The film is set to enter its post production phase with the intention to release it in early 2024 so stay tuned.

Choi Sung Eun's Previous Works

In 2022, Choi Sung Eun made headlines after joining Ji Chang Wook and Hwang In Yeop in the mystical short-form series "The Sound of Magic."

She also starred in the Korean "Black Mirror" called "SF8, an omnibus drama that boasts the themes of augmented reality to showcase the lives of people dreaming of a perfect society.

Choi Sung Eun also starred in "Beyond Evil" as a murder suspect. This opened a lot of doors for her as a rookie actress. With that said, she also joined the rom-com series "Start-Up."

It is a breath of fresh air from her dark-themed filmography as the series depicts the hilarious twists and turns of life in the romantic world while managing stocks, business and more.

Thanks to the series, Choi Sung Eun received great recognition as Best New Actress at the 25th Chunsa Film Art Awards in 2020.
