Shin Hye Sun Shares Affection For 'Welcome To Samdalri'

On December 1, "Welcome To Samdalri" held its press conference to introduce its cast to the public.

The event was attended by Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook, the two actors who headline the work that focuses on the romantic story between two ex-lovers who find their way back to each other.

Shin Hye Sun plays Jo Sam Dal in the drama, a famous photographer who returns to Jeju Island after reaching her goals in the big city of Seoul.

The actress described the work as a "blanket-like comfort" to viewers this winter. She shared affection to her character who is set to give resonance to fans that experience a bump in their lives.

Shin Hye Sun also praised Ji Chang Wook, her on-screen partner, saying, "No one can play Jo Yong Pil better than Ji Chang Wook. He's funny and affectionate."

When asked why she decided to sar in the work, Shin Hye Sun reasoned that she wants to rest and find enjoyment in her busy life as an actress.

"I was mentally exhausted when I received the script," she shared. "I instantly loved it. Beyond the fun, I felt my heart become warm when I was reading it."

With this, "Welcome To Samdalri" is a reflection of the actress' life, portraying her youth and adulthood in a rather busy and competitive industry.

"It's an interesting aspect to live my life for the second time. I really feel like I'm Jo Sam Dal so please don't miss it," Shin Hye Sun said, hinting at a seamless performance in the series.

'Welcome To Samdalri' Director On Creating the New Drama

Director Cha Young Hoon aims to deliver a relatable healing series before the year ends through "Welcome To Samdalri."

Through the drama's humanly flawed yet endearing characters, he expects viewers to find their lost selves and live a regret-free lives.

"The drama is about life and people," the director said. "I want viewers to feel comforted through the series that represents family, friendship and romance."
