Kwon Yuri is making her long-awaited silver screen comeback and is expected to challenge herself with her first horror genre project.

Kwon Yuri Breaks Silver Screen Hiatus With Her First Horror Film 'Mist'

SNSD's Yuri surprised the public after multiple media outlets announced her return to the big screen. Based on the news reported on December 12, the idol-actress will headline the new film "Mist" (working title). 

It has been said that the "Good Job" star is about to make an unprecedented transformation in a horror movie.

"Mist" focuses on the story of Kim Min and the fear felt in the desperate struggle of those who somehow try to resolve the problems in their ordinary lives.

Kwon Yuri is confirmed to portray the role of Kim Min, an employee of a special cleaning company in charge of handling lonely death sites.

As she is someone who builds a wall around people due to her emotional defects, the character's complex psychology is conveyed through Yuri's unique expressive power.

The "Bossam: Steal the Fate" actress will challenge herself in the mystery-thriller genre for the first time since her debut. According to the celebrity, she is excited to show a new side of herself because it is fresh work for her.

"I will take responsibility and work hard to finish the movie in good condition and happy, so please give us a lot of interest."

Expectations for her first horror film are already receiving anticipation from the fans.

"Mist" will be Yuri's first movie comeback following her 2013 film "No Breathing."

In addition, "Moving" actress Kwak Sun Young will join Yuri in leading this project. It has been said that the production will start in earnest with the goal of releasing it sometime in 2024 in cinemas.

Where Is Kwon Yuri Now

Kwon Yuri, in 2022, starred in the action-comedy series "Good Job," where she reunited with former co-star Jung Il Woo.

Apart from the series, Yuri also channeled her entertainment skills as she joined Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo in the variety show "The Zone: Survival Mission."

Further, Yuri is busy traveling in various countries and shared her journey in her vlogs. She also embarked on her first-ever solo fan meet in Asia and had a close encounter with her fans.
