'Welcome To Samdalri' Records Slight Plummet In Viewership Scores

JTBC's hit rom-com series "Welcome To Samdalri" finally wrapped up its first half of its run.

On December 24, the drama released its eighth episode of the show, and took the viewers on an emotional journey that showcased Ji Chang Wook's immersive acting.

In episode 8, Ji Chang Wook's character, Jo Yong Pil, shared his heartache as he commemorated his late mother's death due to the disinformation of the weather.

It's revealed that the tragedy pushed him to become a reputable weatherman in Jeju Island, in spite of the great opportunities for him in Seoul.

Moreover, the brand new episode also gave a glimpse into Shin Hye Sun's Jo Sam Dal's life that's stricken with strife after her mother suffers from a heart failure.

The drama recorded a score of 7.9% which is a slight jump from its rating of 6.3% from the night prior. While it's significantly high, it still falls short from becoming the drama's new personal best.

Despite that, "Welcome To Samdalri" still took the No. 1 spot among weekend dramas, completely besting Lee Young Ae's "Maestra: Strings of Truth."

Moreover, many fans believe that the show will get back up and record double digit scores as it heads into its second half of broadcast.

'Welcome To Samdalri' To Rise In Scores In Second Half

The JTBC drama started off with high scores, surpassing the 5% rating mark that Shin Hye Sun predicted during the drama's press conference.

Although the show plummeted for 0.2% in its latest episode, the work still continues to receive an all-time high score, much to the team's delight.

On the other hand, Ji Chang Wook promised to greet fans at the Jeju Airport duty-free store once the drama receives a whopping 20% rating.

Catch "Welcome To Samdalri" every weekend at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC and Netflix.
