'My Name is Loh Kiwan' Confirmed for March Release on Netflix
The long wait is finally coming to an end for most fans as Song Joong Ki will grace the small screen beginning in March. A media outlet announced on January 5 that the actor's much-awaited romance movie "My Name is Loh Kiwan" is ready for release on March 1 on the famous online streaming giant Netflix.
"My Name is Loh Kiwan" stars Song Joong Ki, Choi Sung Eun, Jo Han Chul, Kim Sung Ryung, Lee Il Hwa, Lee Sang Hee, and Seo Hyun Woo.
What We Know So Far About Song Joong Ki's New Romance Film
Loh Kiwan is Song Joong Ki, a North Korean defector who fights desperately to have his status as a refugee recognized in Belgium. He works with Marie (Choi Sung Eun), a Korean professional shooter with a Belgian citizenship.
Unlike Loh Kiwan who travels all the way to Belgium in hopes to survive, Maries has lost her reason to live, but as she collaborates with Kiwan, she unintentionally falls in love with him.
The award-winning actor attempted the crime noir genre through the film "Hopeless," which was released in October 2023, but failed miserably at the box office. Attention is focused on whether he could make a change this time so that the regret of some can be alleviated through the upcoming Netflix romance film.

It has been said that "My Name is Loh Kiwan" was filmed in Hungary in May 2023. It is based on the novel "I Met Ro Ki Wan" and tells the meeting, parting, and love between Ki Wan and Marie.
This is also Kim Hee Jin's debut feature film.
Jo Han Chul Reunites With Song Joong Ki in 'My Name is Loh Kiwan'
The actor will work again with "Reborn Rich" co-star Jo Han Chul. He will play Yoon Sung, Marie's father. Kim Sung Ryung is Ok Hee, who becomes the reason Loh Kiwan travels to Belgium.
Lee Il Hwa is Marie's mother named Jung Joo. Lee Sang Hee takes the character of Sun Joo, a Korean immigrant whom Loh Kiwan meets at a factory, and Seo Hyun Woo as Eun Chul, Loh Kiwan's uncle.
All of these characters will finally make their debut on the screen beginning March 1.
This also signals Song Joong Ki's first-ever project for 2024. As of this writing, he has no confirmed drama projects yet.
Song Joong Ki is currently on hiatus and spending more time with his family in the UK.
