Ahead of his K-drama comeback, Choi Woo Shik sat down for a quick chat with the editorial team of Esquire Korea magazine.

In the brief interview, Choi Woo Shik bared his heart about his plans and dream roles as an actor. According to the actor, he is  truly grateful for his career and how it's going for him.

Among the Asian actors who grew up overseas, Choi Woo Shik is chosen as the most talented star in his generation. To recall, the actor migrated to Canada when he was young.

Choi Woo Shik looked back at the time when he couldn't speak English at all, and only communicated through body language with his friends.

"It was one of the skills I learned to survive as an immigrant," the actor shared. "Looking back, it was an experience that helped me immerse myself in my roles as an actor."

According to Choi Woo Shik, he has played many characters that had many growing pains, not yet belonging anywhere and always having a timid personality.

Thankfully, he was able to overcome his doubts when he received high praises from his fans, which helped a lot to boost his morale and self-esteem.

"I promise to improve what I'm lacking," Choi Woo Shik said. "Please keep on loving me until the end."

Choi Woo Shik Reveals Career Plans As Actor

Since his debut, Choi Woo Shik made a name for himself and starred in high scale works like the Academy winner "Parasite," "The Witch" and more.

This 2024, Choi Woo Shik plans to bid goodbye to his boyish side. He told Esquire Korea that he's now ready to take on characters with oozing bravado and more challenging genres.

"I want to showcase a different side to the fans," Choi Woo Shik said. The actor chose the medical drama genre as the work he wants to do the most.

Meanwhile, Choi Woo Shik's brand new series "A Killer Paradox" is underway. It depicts the life of a student who is able to identify evil people after his first accidental murder. Catch it on Netflix this 2024.
