Son Ye Jin Courted to Headline 'The AX'

Following her wedding to Hyun Bin and the birth of their first child, the Hallyu star hit pause on her acting career to focus on her family.

Although the actress is quite active with her brand ambassadorship, the 42-year-old beauty has been on drama and movie hiatus.

Interestingly, news sparked that Son Ye Jin may be starring in a new film after being offered the lead role in an upcoming thriller movie.

In an exclusive report, the actress received an offer to star in the film "The AX."

Other than Son Ye Jin, award-winning actor Lee Byung Hun is also offered to play as the lead star.

The actor's agency BH Entertainment and Son Ye Jin's label MSteam Entertainment confirmed that they received offer to play the lead roles in the upcoming film, and both are positively reviewing it.

If the two officially confirm their appearance, viewers will get to see the amazing chemistry between the top stars.

Meanwhile, the thriller movie "The AX" will be helmed by "The Handmaiden," "Decision to Leave," and "Oldboy" director Park Chan Wook.

Interestingly, "The AX" will be Lee Byung Hun and director Park Chan Wook's reunion after 20 years, as the top star headlined a few of his films.

This includes the "Joint Security Area" in 2000, and "Three Extremes" in 2004.

As for the actress, this will be her first on-screen project after the 2022 K-drama "Thirty-Nine."

Fans Rejoice Following Son Ye Jin's Potential Movie

On X, netizens couldn't help but express their excitement for Son Ye Jin's possible new movie. Although the actress has yet to confirm her appearance, fans are already welcoming her return.

In addition, Son Ye Jin's casting topped Naver's Trends search, which also shows how excited the public is for her comeback.

Other than her upcoming movie, fans were also delighted as the actress celebrated her second-year anniversary with Hyun Bin.

On Son Ye Jin's Instagram, she featured never-before-seen photos of her and Hyun Bin on their wedding day.

To recall, the actress married Hyun Bin on March 31, 2022 in a private ceremony at the Aston House of the Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel.

In June, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child.

In the same year, Son Ye Jin gave birth to their firstborn.
