Actress Go Hyun-jung had harsh words about the production team's treatment of the "Convenience Store Golden Bell" game, remembering that sales once reached more than 10 million won, or approximately $7,400, while filming.

Go was a guest on the YouTube variety program Salon Drip 2 in the episode "How do I increase my SNS followers?" uploaded Tuesday.
When host Jang Do-yeon mentioned previous news regarding the game, Go provided a frank answer.
She replied, "There was even an article about 'Convenience Store Golden Bell.'"
Go described how exasperated she was that filming was done indoors within convenience stores.
She mentioned, "I do that every time. I do it every time there's a convenience store scene. It's really hard when we film in a convenience store.
They don't give us all the space. Since we film while accepting regular customers, the filming crew has to film while feeling sad. I hate seeing that. It's better to just close the store and do Golden Bell"
The star continued to share that sales from the section usually surpassed expectations. She remembered, "We said we could sell more and do Golden Bell. But word got out and sometimes it went over 10 million won (approximately $7,400). There are teams that are preparing for their own living expenses. Let's not do that."
Go then turned a sharp remark to staff members. She continued, "Are you listening? The person who took it?"
Her words garnered attention from the audience almost immediately, with most complimenting her straight talk and desire for justice.
The Convenience Store Golden Bell challenge had been well-received for its combination of humor and competition but has received criticism for logistical challenges during filming.
Go Hyun-jung, one of South Korea's top actresses, has been recognized for having a no-nonsense personality both on and off camera.
Her remarks will likely fuel additional controversy regarding the off-air practices of variety show productions.
As of press time, the production staff had not made any comments in response to Go's statement.
