'Dear X' Draws Buzz at Busan International Film Festival Ahead of November Premiere

The TVing original series Dear X caused a big buzz at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), after three days of red carpet walks, screenings, and audience interactions from September 17 to 19.

The series was formally invited into BIFF's "On Screen" category, where it screened the first two episodes to the public.

The cast, which included Kim Yoo-jung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon, and Lee Yeol-eum, participated in the red carpet activity held at the Seoul Cinema Center's outdoor theater on September 17 and received applause and cheers from fans.

The first public screening was conducted on September 18 at Lotte Cinema Centum City, followed by a GV (Conversation with Audience) session.

"You will be able to check the actors' acting skills show," said Studio Dragon CP Kim Ryun-hee.

"You will feel the joy of being a virtuous person who cannot support or hate Baek Ah-jin in the play."

The lead actress Kim Yoo-jung discussed her metamorphosis into the multi-dimensional lead role.

"Not only because it was different from the character I had previously played, but I was very attracted to the entire work," she said.

"Watching the story of extreme emotions and complex relationships intertwined, I sympathized as if I was looking in a mirror."

Actor Kim Young-dae, who portrays Yoon Joon-seo, thanked the audiences for the early reactions.

"It was an honor to meet with the audience first at the Busan International Film Festival," he added. "Dear X' is a work that you can't help but be immersed in and watch."

Kim Do-hoon explained the challenge of acting as Kim Jae-oh.
"The character 'Kim Jae-oh' felt the most difficult character I've ever played," he confessed. "It was a challenging experience."

Lee Yeol-eum, who appeared later in the series as Lena, added:
"As much as I cried and laughed through 'Baek Ah-jin,' I hope many people sympathize with and love me."

Kim Yi-kyung joined the cast on the last day for an outdoor welcome.
"Shim Sung-hee is a person who meets Baek Ah-jin in high school and creates conflict," she explained. "Shim Sung-hee is a person who meets Baek Ah-jin in high school and creates conflict."

Dear X takes place after the top actress Baek Ah-jin falls, whose glossy facade conceals cold-blooded secrets, and Yoon Joon-seo, who resorts to destruction in order to defend her.

The drama combines suspense, melodrama, and psychological tension and premieres November 6 on TVing.
