South Korean actor Ahn Bo Hyun, who is known to stand tall and possess a powerful on-screen presence, has admitted that he once harbored a secret crush on actress Song Hye Kyo, in addition to making headlines due to his past romance with Blackpink's Jisoo.

Ahn reportedly met Song for the first time during filming of "Descendants of the Sun" in 2016 when he was featured in a supporting role as the subordinate officer of Song Joong Ki.
Reminiscing on those times Allkpop reported that Ahn confessed, "I loved her for six months but did not dare to confess."
He further added that he was enchanted with her natural beauty at a cast dinner, explaining that "everyone was attracted to Song Hye Kyo's beauty."
Fans wished Ahn had confessed, with some drawing comparisons with his co-star Song Joong Ki.
The actor's private life also gained the spotlight when he began a public romance with Blackpink member Jisoo.
Dispatch posted photos of the couple on August 3, 2023, and their agencies soon confirmed this.
Their romance did not last long, though. Sources stated their busy schedules prevented them from pursuing it further.
Ahn himself was also in the spotlight during that time. Laodong reported that controversies involved following objectionable YouTube channels, allowing aides to carry his scripts, and using insensitive language on the internet.
He later apologized, stating he took responsibility and clarifying that the YouTube problem resulted from a channel manager.
In January 2025, Jisoo explained her dream type in an interview as "strong, muscular, can swim, has clean, short, cheerful and trustworthy hair."
Later on, Ahn shared a picture showcasing his body in water, which led to speculations whether this was a veiled message meant for his ex.
Regardless of his personal struggles, Ahn carried on building his career. With a debut in the 2014 drama "Golden Cross," he has worked across genres, including "Itaewon Class, My Name, Yumi's Cells, Military Prosecutor Doberman." Critics regard him as a dedicated performer whose acting ability remains respected.
Ahn made his big-screen comeback this year in the romantic comedy "Beloved You," starring alongside YoonA.
The movie revolves around a unemployed man turned nanny for a woman with a secret past and was released in Vietnam on September 5.
