Actress Lim Ji-yeon has taken action against mounting public backlash by deleting an Instagram post made recently that had ignited controversy among netizens and fans.

As per Tenasia, Lim Ji-yeon posted several photos of her in a glittering golden-colored dress on Instagram with a heart emoticon. The photos were from the "Love Your W 2025" event organized by "W Korea" on October 15 at Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.

Soon after the post was published, netizens started disapproving of it because of the event's controversy. The actress was criticized for having posted it, with comments like, "Take down the post," and "Why would you post photos from a controversial event?"

In a reaction to the growing criticism, Lim Ji-yeon has since deleted the photos on her social networking site. Some other users of the site, however, stood in her defense. "I was there, and Lim Ji-yeon left earlier than Park Eun-bin," a user posted, while another post read, "Lim Ji-yeon left during dinner and didn't attend the after-party."

The aforementioned event, the 20th "W Korea Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event," was graced by top celebrities like Lee Young-ae, Ha Jung-woo, Lee Min-ho, Go Hyun-jung, Im Soo-jung, Jung Ryeo-won, Park Eun-bin, and Jung Hae-in. K-pop artists like IVE, aespa, BTS members J-Hope, V, and RM, and ILLIT also attended.

Though, the event attracted criticism soon after "W Korea" posted videos of celebrities partying and drinking, which many found inappropriate for a campaign aimed at creating awareness of breast cancer.

Responding to the controversy, "W Korea issued" an apology on October 19 via its official website. The magazine announced, "The event on the 15th was criticized for not aligning with the campaign's purpose. We take this seriously." The announcement further added, "We deeply apologize for not considering the perspectives of breast cancer patients and their families, causing discomfort and hurt."

In the meantime, Lim Ji-yeon is still in a public relationship with actor Lee Do-hyun, her co-star in Netflix's "The Glory." Lee served in the military in the Air Force Band and was discharged in May 2023.
