Kim Sae Ron's family has protested publicly against actor Kim Soo Hyun since he cancelled his episode on SBS's program "Curious Stories Y" because of the handling of the broadcast and contradictory statements from his side.

The controversy focuses on how Kim Soo Hyun changed positions during the covering of the show, which led to disputes over how the case was presented.

Attorney Bu Ji Seok, who is representing Kim Sae Ron's family, spoke to Koreaboo and stated, "During the show's coverage, they changed their positions and are now accusing the family of fabricating the story."

The family also raised concerns about the production process. They said, "An SBS program suddenly requested an interview regarding the case on Saturday, November 8.

However, it turned out that Kim Soo Hyun had already been interviewed first, and the interview request only came when preparations for the broadcast were finalized."

According to Insight, it had been planned to go on air on November 14, and police had asked the family not to grant any media interviews.

The family had agreed to the interview on November 10, also providing proof that Kim Sae Ron was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun when she was a minor and had asked for fair coverage. Two days before the scheduled broadcast, they were told that the episode would be axed.

The family also strongly denounced the lawyer representing Kim Soo Hyun for resorting to threatening media tactics, which included warnings of civil and criminal action.

To this, Kim Soo Hyun's attorney made a statement saying, "We only requested caution due to concerns about additional crimes and secondary harm; we never intended to block the broadcast. We also stated that we will not object to the broadcast if the rebuttals are adequately reflected."

SBS also made a statement to explain the decision. A representative revealed to Koreaboo, "We indeed researched the Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun case. After our research and internal discussions, we decided not to air it. Both sides have valid opinions, and we felt there was no point in reconstructing the story on air; therefore, we deemed it difficult to air."

Both sides are involved in a controversy to uncover the facts. Recently, Kim Sae Ron's mother shared more pieces of evidence that Kim Soo Hyun dated her daughter when she was a minor, and public attention towards this situation started to heighten.
