The teenage romance revolves around Seo Yoon, played by actress Shin Sia, a young woman living with anterograde amnesia, a condition where memories are deleted each day after every sleep, and Jae Won, played by Choo, a man consumed wholeheartedly by the process of filling these memories every day. The moviedetails the theme of transitory moments, love, and the passion for the first experience of love, something which highly appealed to the actor.

Choo commented on this in an interview with Koreaboo: "The story reminds me of when I was a teenager." He continued, "There is someone who immediately comes to mind when I think of first love"

Before relating his personal experience, Choo painted a vivid background picture of his adolescence. He talked about his school, which was quite competitive, with an entrance exam, then another test for class ranking, which determined the academic position of the students.

It was in the school auditorium that he vividly remembers the most outstanding student being invited to the front row, an incident that has remained in his memory ever since then.

As quoted by Choo, he was immediately struck by the confidence and presence of the girl and was to find out later that they had been allocated to the same class. As quoted by Naver, he revealed that she was intelligent and this encouraged him to work hard to catch up to her grades despite the fact that their classes would ultimately be divided according to levels of performance.

Choo further clarified that his feelings were two-way in that they eventually dated, which made it his first real relationship. Nevertheless, he realized that the relationship could not handle the transitions that came along with adulthood.

Adding context to what happened at the end of the relationship, Choo continued to describe how he ended up moving to Seoul to seek a career in acting. After gaining some perspective and distance, the two simply drifted apart.

The only information he was able to gather about what happened to her later on was when she got admitted to a prestigious university at age 20.
