Veteran actress Han Bo Bae has revealed she is stepping away from acting and will be marrying her long-term partner, bringing an end to over two decades in the entertainment industry.

On December 29, 2025, Han Bo Bae took to Instagram to update her fans on her life, marking her first public message since October 2022. She described transitioning from her irregular acting schedule to a traditional "9-to-6" office routine.

"After walking the path of an actress for over 20 years, I've temporarily stepped away from acting and am currently living an ordinary office-worker life," Han Bo Bae wrote.

She continue, "Having lived an irregular lifestyle ever since my school days, I'm experiencing a regular 9-to-6 routine for the first time, and it's been far more satisfying than I expected," per Koeaboo.

Han explained that her decision was motivated by a desire to explore life outside the entertainment industry. "There are many reasons behind this decision, but the biggest one was the feeling that it would be a shame to live my life with just one profession," she said.

"Since I started acting at such a young age, I also wanted to challenge myself in a different world. There were moments when I seriously wondered whether I should continue acting... So I finally put into action the thought I had kept in my heart for a long time: Let's try something else,'" News 1 reported.

In addition to her career update, Han Bo Bae shared her wedding plans. "Another reason I'm writing this today is that I've met someone I want to spend my life with," she said. "After eight years of dating, I'll be getting married in March 2026! Since I haven't stood in the public eye for a long time, I hesitated over whether it was right to share this news, but I wanted to personally update those kind people who recognized me on the street or asked how I've been doing lately."

She also expressed hope and gratitude to her fans: "I'm still clumsy, and life ahead remains uncertain, but I'll keep moving forward step by step toward happiness with the person I love. I hope that the days of everyone who read my awkward confession are also filled with warmth and good things."

Han Bo Bae began her career in 2002 as a child actress in Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and remained active in film and television until 2021. Her retirement marks a new chapter, highlighting her desire to balance personal life and professional reinvention.
