Jung Woo Sung's agency is pushing back against claims that positive online comments about his acting were part of a planned marketing push. This revelation comes as people keep debating his acting in a new streaming show.

Artist Company put out a statement on Jan. 14, saying the claims are completely false. They deny any involvement in trying to sway public opinion through online parent groups, according to AllKpop. The denial follows quickly spreading rumors on social media and entertainment sites.
Jung plays prosecutor Jang Geon Yeong in the Disney+ series "Made in Korea," which came out on Dec. 24. The show has gotten attention because of its famous cast, but people have completely unique opinions about Jung's acting. Some viewers have said his lines were stiff and his gestures overdone, while others think his acting fits the character and the time, AllKpop says.

Amid these talks, posts supporting Jung's acting started showing up on different online spots, like "mom cafes," which are popular forums for parents in South Korea. Some online users said that several of these posts had alike writing styles and posting times, making them suspect something was up. These developments led to claims that the posts were a planned viral marketing thing.
As the media paid more attention, the agency repeated that they weren't involved, saying the accusations were completely false. The Maeil Business Newspaper reported that the agency said they didn't create or spread promotional posts in online groups.
"Made in Korea" is set in South Korea during the socially and politically tumultuous 1970s. The show is about Baek Gi Tae, played by Hyun Bin, a businessman trying to get to the top by turning national progress into his own cash cow.
Jung's character, Jang Geon Yeong, chases after Baek, making for a tense fight against major historical events. The final episode of the first season is due out on Jan. 14, according to the source.
