Was Kim Soo Hyun Joking About His Marriage Plans?

They say life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans. So it will be interesting to see what happens to Kim Soo Hyun, who has stated some very definite plans about marriage.

At a recent showcase, the 25-year-old actor revealed that he planned his life out by the time he was 24, but had in the last year revised that master plan. Only a year ago he was sure he would marry by 37.
"Now I don't think I can keep to that plan, so I'm postponing it a bit and thinking about getting married at 41," said Kim. "At 41 years old-with a 21-year-old."

Then he laughed, so who knows how serious he was. MC Kim Tae Jin pointed out that his future bride would now be a toddler. His fans in the audience did not approve of the age difference, but then they would probably be well over 21 in 16 years.

However, his fans should remember that the star of "The Moon Embracing The Sun" has a sense of humor.

When he was asked whether he was dating anyone on another recent show, he said, "My manager warned me that I might be asked if I was dating anyone. He said that even if you have a girlfriend now, you must say no. So, my answer is 'No, I'm not dating now.'"

This was around the time that Kim, who appeared in "Dream High," was rumored to be dating Suzy and possibly Yoona.

The comment about eventually marrying someone who had not yet graduated from kindergarten might have been designed to shock his audience and promote attention for his new film, "Secretly and Greatly."

"Secretly and Greatly" is about three flower boy North Korean spies who live in disguise in South Korea. Won Ryu Hwan, played by Kim, pretends to be the village idiot, while his fellow spies, played by Park Ki Woong and Lee Hyun Woo, pretend to be an aspiring singer, and a high school student. They are enjoying life in South Korea when they receive their mission.

Whether Kim meant his marriage plans as a joke, or not, netizens were not pleased, making comments such as "Twenty years difference-isn't that too much?" and "Is he crazy? Why is he thinking of chasing after young girls at that age?"

But then these fans have probably already graduated from kindergarten.
