Seo In Guk Does Not Wonder Why People Think He’s Gay

Actor and singer Seo In Guk is not gay. Although he makes it very clear that he really likes women, he does know why people assume that he has a different preference.

The winner of the talent reality show "Superstar K" thinks it has a lot to do with one of his kdrama appearances and his participation in a music video.

Seo In Guk played Yoon Yoon Jae, the boy next door, in "Reply 1997."  For his romantic performance in that drama, he won Drama Fever's "Best Kiss Award" for a kiss he shared with A Pink's Jung Eun Ji. But he also won a DramaFever "Best Couple Not Meant To Be" award because the character Kang Joon Hee, played by Infinite's Hoya, had an unrequited crush on Yoon Yoon Jae.

That's how rumors get started, but they don't seem to bother Seo too much.

"I've heard the gay rumors," said Seo. "The terms 'Seo In Guk, gay' will pop up in Internet searches a lot because on the cable drama, 'Reply, 1997,' Hoya's character had a crush on me. Also, in K.Will's music video, I played the role of a guy having a one-sided crush on another guy."

There are also rumors that he is in a relationship with the singer Brian and that Brian's song "Baby" was written for him.

Seo In Guk said, "Brian hates those kinds of rumors. He and the singer Eru are close too. When Eru came over to his house a lot that started rumors about them. Brian warned me if we got close, there would be rumors about me too. So, when Brian had a girlfriend, he would kiss her in the middle of the street on purpose."

But Seo In Guk wants everyone to know exactly where he stands and which woman he would like to stand next to.

"I can tell you with absolute clarity that I like women," he said. In fact, he has made it clear in the past that Girls' Generation member Yoona is his ideal type. They worked together in the drama "Love Rain," in which he played a singer, who shows up at the house she stays in.

"While filming the drama and spending time with her, I fell for her easy-going personality," said Seo. "She's so pretty but her personality is also amazing. She is my ideal type."
