More kdrama celebrities are taking a stand against rumors by filing charges against the person who is defaming them. Earlier in the week, Loen Entertainment reported that the police had arrested the man responsible for starting the rumors about singer and actress IU. This week, actress Lee Young Ae, best known for her role in the drama "Dae Jang Geum" and her husband Jung Ho Yung,a  Korean-American businessman, filed charges against the netizen who spread rumors about their family.

The rumors said that Jung Ho Yung's son was married to Han Chae Young, the actress who recently appeared in "You're An Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" and is best known for her role in "Delightful Girl Choon Hyang. That would make the two actresses mother and daughter-in-law.

Han Chae Young is really married to Korean-American financial expert Choi Dong Joon, while Lee Young Ah and her husband are the parents of two-year-old twins. Not only was false personal information spread about Lee Young Ae and her family but netizens also accused Jung Jo Yung of being involved in criminal activities.

According to the couple's attorney, the netizens in question were spreading false rumors about Jung Ho Yung and Lee Young Ae as if they personally knew them and considering how quickly information spreads on the Internet, such rumors can result in significant damage. The couple decided to sue for defamation before the rumors further damaged the reputations of anyone involved.

The speed with which information can spread on the Internet also came up in the testimony of the man who started the pregnancy and marriage rumors that plagued IU, the star of "You're The best Lee Soon Shin."

The man being held by the police said that he texted the rumors out of boredom but they spread faster than he ever imagined. Although he is repentant, Loen Entertainment is demanding that he be punished for his crime.

"We will continue to strongly respond to netizens who leave malicious defaming messages," said music producer Jo Young Chul of Loen Entertainment.

These charges are not the first time kpop or kdrama celebrities have taken a stand against false rumors, but it seems like they are now being taken more seriously.

This summer, actor Kwon Sang Woo threatened to find the person who spread rumors that he was cheating on his wife, Son Tae Young with model Kang Ye Bin. When he finds the person, he plans to sue for defamation. While he said he could personally laugh off such rumors, they hurt others.

"My loving family and fans have done nothing wrong," said Kwon.

Other Kdrama celebrities who have taken a stand against rumors include actresses Go So Young and Kim Tae Hee.
