Ha Ji Won Rejects Offer From Hollywood For "Qi Empress"

Actress Ha Ji Won said she rejected an offer from Hollywood due to filming of "Qi Empress."

Ha Ji Won on the prouction review of MBC's new Monday Tuesday drama "Qi Empress," which took place in Grand Hayatt Hotel in Hannam-dong, Seoul, on October 24, 2013, announced that she is to go to Hollywood.

Ha Ji Won recently made a contract with an American agency UTA, which also works with s Johnny Depp and Harrison Ford.

Ha Ji Won said, "I've already gotten three movie offers from Hollywood, but I picked 'Qi Empress' over them. In Korea, people have said, 'Why does Ha Ji Won always do films where she suffers?' But Hollywood appreciated the fact that my works have been in many genres, including action, drama, and melodrama."

Ha Ji Won's agency said, "She's gotten an offer of a good movie idea, but had to refuse due to 'Qi Empress.' We will continue to have meetings with the Hollywood agency while filming the drama."

"Qi Empress" is a 50-episode-long drama on the love and fights of the Ko Ryo woman, who reins as Qi Empress and rules the Daewon empire. It is the new drama by the renowned script writers, Jang Yung Chul and Jung Kyung Soon.

In addition to Ha Ji Won, Joo Jin Mo, Ji Chang Wuk, Baek Jin Hee, Lee Moon Sik, and Kim Yong Ho star in the drama. It premiers on October 28.
