Ailee to Appear in Upcoming Film “Way Station” With Kim Dong Jun And Kim Jae Kyung
On May 4, Ailee announced that not only will she have a special appearance in the upcoming film "Way Station," but she will also be singing the film's theme song!
Amy Lee, better known as Ailee, is a Korean-American singer and songwriter. Ailee was born in Denver, Colorado. Before moving to Korea, she grew up in New Jersey and studied in Pace University where she dropped out to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. She even has a YouTube channel to showcase her talent. She then moved to Korea on 2010 after she passed an audition and became an artist for YMC Entertainment.
Prior to her official music debut with the song "Heaven" in 2012, which won her numerous music awards, she has collaborated with various popular artists and she won first place in a singing competition reality show "Singer and Trainee" with Wheesung. She then appeared in KBS's drama series "Dream High 2" in 2012, where she debuted as an actress.
This multi-talented singer-actress received "Best New Artist Award" and "Best Newcomer and Four Best Female Vocal Performance" awards. Ailee also participated in Goblin" and Arthdal Chronicles' OST. To elevate the atmosphere of the storyline, we will hear Ailee's emotional rendition and powerful vocals to the upcoming film. Her brief appearance will showcase her side of being an actress and is sure to leave an impact.
"Way Station" will be headlined by Kim Dong Jun and Kim Jae Kyung. Kim Dong Jun will play as Seung Hyun, a man suffering from Alzheimer's, while Kim Jae Kyung will play as Ji Ah, who has has a terminal illness, and all she wants is to be remembered by Seung Hyun forever.
In 2010, Kim Dong Jun made his entertainment debut as a member of the K-pop band ZE:A. In the same year, he debuted as an actor an appeared in the television series "Prosecutor Princess." This 28-year-old actor has also been seen in 2011's "Ronin Pop." He recently starred in "About Time" (2018) and "Delicious Rendezvous" (2019), which is a variety show.
Kim Jae-kyung, 31, was a member and leader of the DSP Entertainment's girl group Rainbow. She then switched to go acting full-time. Since then, she has been seen in multiple variety shows and dramas including, "Inspiring Generation" (2014), "Bad Papa" (2018), and "The Secret Life of My Secretary" (2019).
The roles given to these former Kpop stars will be challenging, and a lot of their fans will indeed be supporting them all the way down. No doubt they could play the roles given to them knowing both of them are experienced actor and actress.
Yoon Yoo Sun, Heo Jung Min, and Jin Ye Sol will be joining the movie and will definitely add more drama. Surely, there will be a lot of heartbreaking scenes, and Ailee's vocals will fit perfectly as she sings the film's OST.
Kim Jung Min will be directing this upcoming film "Way Station" and they will begin filming the movie this May.
