Here Are All The Winners For the 2020 Buil Film Awards
The Buil Film Awards is a South Korean film awards ceremony hosted by the Busan Ilbo newspaper. It began in 1958 as one of the earliest film awards in the country. During the 1950s and 1960s, it was the biggest film awards event in the Busan region and was held annually until 1973. The event went into a 34-year hiatus from 1974 to 2007 when the film industry lost its appeal due to government censorship and the burgeoning television industry.
After an absence of 23 years, the awards were revived when the 17th Buil Film Awards took place on October 9, 2008, at the Grand Hotel in Haeundae District, Busan. It is currently one of the highlights of the ongoing Busan International Film Festival.
On the afternoon of the 22nd of October 2020, the 29th Buil Film Awards 2020 was held at the BEXCO Auditorium in Busan. On this day, the awards ceremony was held without spectators to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Actor Lee Byung Hun has won the Best Male Leading Actor Award At the 2020 Buil Film Award, and actress Jung Yu Mi won the Best Female Leading Actor Award.
The best work award went to 'Hummingbird.' Director Kim Bo Ra said, "This award will be the last in the 'Hummingbird' journey. Two years ago, 'Hummingbird' first screened in Busan, but two years later, I am happy to receive the Best Picture Award here. The actors and staff made this movie with love. I have loved this movie for several years. I made it with the feeling of it being my letter to the world, but it was like a miracle when it was met with a great response. Thank you to everyone who made all these miracles I give you."
The Male and Female Supporting Actor Awards were awarded to Lee Hee Joon of 'Namsan's Managers' and Lee Re of 'Peninsula.' Lee Hee Joon said, "Thank you to the director suggesting the role of Sang-Cheon Kwak in'Namsan's Managers.' I think I was able to receive this award thanks to the actors and all the staff's hard work. I also thank the coach, who helped me gain weight, and I thank the coach every day.
The Men and Women's Popular Star Awards went to Kang Dong Won of 'Peninsula' and Seo Ye Ji of 'Quantum Physics.' Kang Dong-won, who won the Men's Popular Star Award, said through a video, "Thank you to the many people who voted. Congratulations on the fact that the film festival will be held safely. I hope everyone will work hard in a difficult time. Thank you again."
Then Seo Ye Ji of 'Quantum Physics,' who won the Women's Popular Star Award, said, "First of all, I thank you for inviting me to the Buil Film Awards in 2020, and I remember the times when I filmed a movie called'Quantum Physics.' Thanks to the hard-working staff. The Popular Star Award is only a fan. I know it as an award from people, but I sincerely thank the fans," he expressed his gratitude to the fans.
Kim Dae Geon of 'Breath,' who won the Rookie Male Acting Award, said, "I thought it was honorable to be nominated for the nomination at all unexpectedly, but I'm so grateful." He added, "The mindset that I had while participating in the movie as Mingu in the movie'Breath,' I will never forget that moment and take a step more confidently."
Next, Kang Mal Geum of 'Chansil Has a Lot of Corridors' who won the Rookie Actress Award, said, "There are many wonderful young and pretty actors, and I am happy to receive the award. I wonder if there are many good things like this. I want to give glory to the director because I think it's all thanks to Director Kim Cho Hee, who did the difficult work of an easy and fun art film."
