Kim Myung Soo is a Public Official tn The Upcoming Drama 'Secret Royal Inspector'
KBS will be airing a new historical drama titled "Secret Royal Inspector," and they just released a thrilling teaser which makes the fans more excited for the show!
"Secret Royal Inspector" is a comic-mystery-themed drama that is set towards the end of the Joseon era. The story will center on a character named Sung Yi Kyum portrayed by Kim Myung Soo who topped the state examination and was given a job at the Hongmungwan (administrative and research department). He is a carefree man with no goals or ambitions in life. One day, he was caught doing an illegal act and as punishment, he is assigned to work as a secret royal inspector.
During the Joseon Dynasty, the Secret Royal Inspector's job is to travel in different provinces using a fake identity to listen to the plight of the common people, investigating abuses, and taking down government officials doing illegal acts. They are also considered as the eyes and ears of the king. A secret royal inspector was a real government position during the Joseon dynasty, and they are specially appointed by the King himself.
In the newly-released teaser, Kim Myung Soo portrays his character as Sung Yi Kyum, who used to gamble and spend his nights at the gisaeng (courtesan trained in music and the arts) house. However, his life begins to change when he was given a task as a secret royal inspector.
The short clip gives us a sneak peek of what Sung Yi Kyum's job as a secret royal inspector is. He is seen fighting against aggressive enemies and will inspire the people as he enters the town alongside Hong Da In (Kwon Nara) and Park Choon Sam (Lee Yi Kyung).
The video caption describes Joseon to be an era of chaos, but with the arrival of Sung Yi Kyum, it states: "The turbulent times are over."
Nearing the end of the clip, Sung Yi Kyum is seen holding out his special inspector badge as he confidently smiles and declares in a soft voice, "The secret royal inspector is has arrived."
As mentioned above Kwon Nara and Lee Yi Kyung stars alongside Kim Myung Soo in this drama. Kwon Nara portrays the character of Hong Da In, is a female inspector known as a damo (a woman who works for a Joseon government office). She works undercover as a gisaeng (women who are trained artists in ancient Korea to entertain men with music, conversation, and poetry).

Lee Yi Kyung on the other hand will star as Park Chun Sam, he is Sung Yi Kyum's loyal and most trusted servant. He has been by Sung Yi Kyum's side since a young age. He is talkative, affectionate, and tearful.
