Bae Sung Woo was involved in a drunk driving incident and was asked to leave his current drama "Delayed Justice."

It was revealed on Dec. 10 that Bae Sung Woo was charged for DUI (driving under the influence) last month, and due to this, his driver's license has been suspended. According to the police, the actor was caught in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, last month for driving under the influence of alcohol, and his driver's license got canceled. They also said that the actor underwent a thorough investigation.

After that, Bae Sung Woo issued his apology through his agency, stating that he takes full responsibility for the wrong actions he has done and there is no room for excuses with what had happened. The actor also added that he accepts all the criticism and he regrets everything deeply. Following the incident, the actor expressed that next time he will be more cautious of his actions and that he'll make sure this kind of incident will never happen again. And with this experience, Bae Sung Woo shared that he will take time to do a self-reflection.

Some viewers of the ongoing drama "Delayed Justice," where Bae Sung Woo currently stars, felt dismayed by his actions and are asking to remove him from the drama. Due to this, the drama's production team announced on Dec. 11 that the actor will be leaving the series.

Upon hearing the news that the "Delayed Justice" leading actor Bae Sung Woo's drunk driving incident, the production team and broadcasting station SBS addressed the matter in every way they can to resolve the unfortunate event. And so far, the production team has concluded that it is understandable for the actor to leave the drama. Due to this, Bae Sung Woo will no longer participate in filming. The drama's future storyline and the plot are still under discussion.

So, with this decision, after the broadcast of episode 12 that will air on Dec. 12, the drama will halt their production for three weeks to do some revisions and then resume broadcasting in 2021. Since the filming is completed through episode 16, some episodes will air with Bae Sung Woo edited out as much as possible, and the following episodes from 17 to 20 will be filmed without the actor's presence. As much as possible, they will air the broadcasts without any problems or issues.

The production is asking everyone for their understanding since this was a decision made in consideration of the program flow experienced by the viewers and the potential harm that could be caused to the other actors and staff.

Once again, they apologize sincerely for this inconvenience that the viewers experience in the show.
