Jang Dong Yoon Reportedly to Star in New Fantasy Drama 'The Fairy and the Bald Idol'
"The Tale of Nokdu" actor Jang Dong Yoon is in talks to star in a new fantasy drama!
Jang Dong Yoon's agency confirmed on December 17 that he is offered to star in the upcoming drama "The Fairy and the Bald Idol." One representative from the agency announced that it is indeed true that he was offered to be part of the cast in the drama. However, as of the moment, nothing has been decided yet.
"The Fairy and the Bald Idol" is considered as a modern remake of the classic Korean folk tale "The Fairy and the Woodcutter." This will be a fantasy drama that tells the story of a fairy who comes from the heavenly world and ends up living with a human who is an idol who has become bald.
"The Fairy and the Bald Idol" is reportedly going to air on SBS but based on the statement of the network, nothing has been confirmed and this is one of the dramas that the company is currently considering to broadcast.
It seems that Jang Dong Yoon's work schedule is quite busy since just after recently wrapping up his latest drama "Search," the actor is now preparing to star in the upcoming fantasy-action period drama "Joseon Exorcist" where he will work alongside actors Kam Woo Sung and Park Sung Hoon.

South Korean actor Jang Dong Yoon was born on born July 12, 1992. The 28-year-old actor is widely recognized for his portrayals in hit television series namely, School 2017 (2017), A Poem a Day (2018) and The Tale of Nokdu (2019), and Search (2020).
Jang Dong Yoon was once reported in the media for his bravery, this was way back in 2015 when he was studying at Hanyang University. According to the media reports, the actor came across a robber possessing a dangerous weapon threatened a convenience store clerk in Seoul's Gwanak District, Jang Dong Yoon became a hero when he devised a quick plan to have the culprit arrested. He was acknowledged for his brave act and received a commendation from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Due to this, the actor gained a lot of casting offers.
Fast forward to 2018, Jang Dong Yoon starred in his leading role for tvN's medical drama A Poem a Day. Following this, he appeared as a supporting actor in the hit historical drama Mr. Sunshine. Then in 2019, the actor starred in the historical romantic comedy-drama titled The Tale of Nokdu along with actress Kim So Hyun. Through this drama he became known and his fame skyrocketed because of his role as the cross-dressing protagonist. He bagged the Excellence Award at the 2019 KBS Drama Awards.
