2021 will truly be an exciting and happy year for all Korean drama lovers as Netflix plans to produce and show more Kdramas! 2020 has been a year full of amazing Korean dramas. Watching different genres helped the people survive the tough year. It was hard for most, but Kdramas have given us hope!

Thanks to Netflix for giving us a lot of good things to watch, and as we welcome the year 2021, the streaming platform has a lot of Korean drama surprises for us. This also means that everyone has to prepare for another year of binge-watching, from romantic-comediy to supernatural and thriller genres. Hopefully, 2021 will be better for us all!

To add on your excitement, here are some of the forthcoming dramas that you should not miss!

The Silent Sea

A sci-fi thriller with eight episodes, featuring some of the biggest and most-talented Korean stars - Gong Yoo, Bae Doo Na of Kingdom, and the singer and actor Lee Joon who will be returning on the small screen.

The series will be set in the future when the earth is suffering from a lack of food and water caused by desertification. Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo) is a soldier in a space agency who will join forces with Ji An (Ban Doo Na) to travel to the moon, with a mission of retrieving a mysterious sample from an abandoned research station.

Hellbound

Another South Korean horror series starring Yoo Ah In, Park Jung Min, Kim Hyun Joo, Won Jin Ah, and Yang Ik Jun. It is about the people who can predict their own deaths, and they are destined to be taken to hell by angels of death.

The Netflix series will be directed by Yeon Sang-Ho, who also made the film "Train to Busan."

Kingdom 2: Ashin of the North

Returning on screen is the highly anticipated series Kingdom with a new cast. Actress Jun Ji Hyun will be appearing on its second season, but her character hasn't been revealed yet. The production team said that her role is someone the viewers should look forward to, and that with a new conflict to solve, "Kingdom 2" will be more intense and thrilling to watch.

Love Alarm 2

Due to the immense popularity and recognition that this series received from its first season, they are finally back with another complicated yet romantic kind of love-friendship relationship. Starring its original cast Kim So Hyun, Song Kang, and Jung Ga Ram, viewers are now excited to once again see these leads and how their stories will finally unfold.

Annanrasumanara

Netflix is taking the opportunity to adapt as many webtoons as it can in 2021. "Annarasumanara" is about a girl who has a childhood dream of becoming a magician. In an unexpected day she met a guy who happens to be one, so she thought if it could be a sign to pursue her dream of becoming a magician? Actor Ji Chang Wook is reported to play the role of the Magician.

D.P: Dog Days

D.P is another webtoon adaptation about military people tasked with hunting down a group of military deserters. Ahn Joon Ho witnessed all the struggles of the young men trying to save themselves by escaping. It is expected to have an emotional impact on the viewers.

Younger

An American romantic-comedy adaptation starring Sung Joon and "Crash Landing on You" star Seo Ji Hye. The story will revolve around a woman mistakenly known for being twenty years younger than she actually is. She uses this opportunity to restart her career and live a new life.
