In "The Penthouse 2" Episode 8, we get to witness how Uhm Ki Joon's character as Joo Dan Tae becomes more evil.

'The Penthouse 2' Episode 8 Recap: Na Ae Gyo and Oh Yoon Hee's First meeting
Season 2 starts with Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) accessing the secret passage of Uhm Ki Joon's study room. As she went down to the parking space, she was shocked to see someone arriving, and it is Na Ae Gyo (Lee Ji Ah)! She thinks twice about meeting with her, and she hid so that Ae Gyo will not notice her. When Ae Gyo arrives at Joon Dan Tae's (Uhm Ki Joon) penthouse apartment, she was shocked to see Dan Tae waiting for someone in the elevator.

When Ae Gyo and Dan Tae were alone, they talk about the business, which is the Gangnam properties, and she reminds him that everything should be split to 50/50. When Ae Gyo left the apartment, Oh Yoon Hee followed her. Finally, Oh Yoon Hee was able to meet Ae Gyo face to face. She pretended that she's not aware of her identity and calls her Su Ryeon. Then Yoon Hee was able to install a tracking app on her phone and informs Logan about this.

Oh Yoon Hee comes back home, and Ha Yoon Cheol was there waiting for her with the divorce paper ready on the table. Ha Yoon Cheol claims that he doesn't want to hurt his daughter, Ha Eun Byeol (Choi Ye Bin) anymore and wants to end their fake marriage. Then a flashback was played of their meeting in the states.
Meanwhile, things for Eun Byeol continues to get even worse at school as all the student starts to bully her calling her a FAKE. Eun Byeol gets confused about what happened the night that Bae Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo) died. She became enraged with anger and took the flowers to Ro Na's table and destroys it. Je Ni (Jin Ji Hee ) then confronts Eun Byeol and slaps her in the face. Eun Byeol eventually passed out on the floor, and when she wakes up, Seok Hoon (Kim Young Dae) is there. Obviously, Seok Hoon has his own plan in mind, and that is to make Eun Byeol remember everything that happened the night that Ro Na fell.

Then Seo Jin and Yoon Cheol meet up to talk about matters of Eun Byeol. Seo Jin apologizes for giving him a hard time and asks Yoon Cheol to stay with her. Seo Jin then leans forward and kisses him. They are unaware that Dan Tae is just at the back looking at her while she kisses Yoon Cheol. That night, Seo Jin meets with Dan Tae and breaks up with him. When he leaves, he immediately makes a call and promises that she'll regret what she did.

A detective then appears at Seo Jin's apartment, insisting that the main suspect in Ro-Na's murder was Eun Byeol. They recorded Seo Jin's confession that she was the one responsible for the murder and they shouldn't touch Eun Byeol. It turns out that it was an act that Dan Tae planned. He now possesses the recording of Seo Jin's confession. Dan Tae used Seo Jin's confession recording to blackmail her make and to force her into doing things for his benefit. And because of this, the Dan Tae forced Seo Jin to continue their wedding. The wedding preparation then begins! Seo Jin looks frustrated while fitting her wedding dress.

In the last scene of Episode 8, Ae Gyo and Dan Tae meet up. She eventually reveals that she wants his fortune; however, Dan Tae holds a gun up to her head, and they both wrestle. There was a gunshot that hit the chandelier, and it fell into Dan Tae and Ae Gyo. They also fell, and Dan Tae has blood oozing down his face. This makes him lose control, and he starts choking Ae Gyo. Luckily, Logan arrives and knocks him out, taking Ae-Gyo to the car and takes her.
