'Happy New Year’ Features an All-Star Cast: Kang Ha Neul Plays a Jobless and Heartbroken Man
There is a new Korean film dropping soon, and it features an all-star cast. Entitled New Year," it certainly has the chance to make many, many fans happy to see all their favorite drama actors work together.
The film will be under CJ Entertainment and is said to have an endearing plot. The story is described as revolving around the colorful lives of the people working at Hotel Emros around the time of New Year.
"Happy New Year" Cast - Star-Studded!
The notable cast of the movie includes Han Ji Min, Lee Dong Wook, YoonA, and Kang Ha Neul, among others. The four will play the most important characters in the show.
Han Ji Min plays a hotel manager who is quite insecure about her personal life. It is apparent that she is perfect for the role of such a conflicted woman, given how she performed in her roles in the drama "Rooftop Prince," as well as in the film "Miss Baek."
Next is Lee Dong Wook, who plays the hotel CEO. He is a quirky character because he is very obsessed with even numbers; how that would play out remains to be seen. Lee Dong Wook is certainly perfect for the role, given his enigmatic and mysterious performance.
It is the "Tale of the Nine-tailed" actor's face and the way he talks that landed him leading men roles in various dramas such as "My Girl" and the "Fugitive of Joseon." However, fans can certainly remember him more in his almost comedic performances in "Goblin" and "Touch Your Heart." He's a chameleon when it comes to acting and can be both happy and serious-looking at the same time.

YoonA plays one of the hotel staff, alongside actresses Won Jin A and Lee Hye Young. The fact that she comes from the upbeat girl band Girls Generation makes her suitable for this role. On the other hand, Kang Ha Neul will play a hotel guest. After all, what is a hotel without guests?
Kang Ha Neul as a Jobless, Loveless Man
Kang Ha Neul is notable for his roles in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" and "When the Camellia Blooms" and in many different films. Needless to say, he can act and perform in all sorts of capacity. Therefore, for this film, he gets one of the most complicated roles, which is that of a jobless young man who not only failed the exam to become a public officer but was dumped by his girlfriend. Not only does his professional life is saddening, but his personal life is also heartbreaking too.
Lee Kwang Soo is another hotel guest, but unlike the character played by Kang Ha Neul, his character is living the grand life. He is the manager of an entertainment agency who works closely with a famous showbiz personality, to be played by Seo Kang Joon.
Adding to the already quite star-studded cast of "Happy New Year" are Go Sung Hee, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Kyu Hyung, Jo Joon Young, Won Jin An, Lee Hye Young, and Jung Jin Young. The movie will certainly be a feast to the eyes of K-drama and movie fans.
The movie is under the helm of director Kwak Jae Young.
At present, it is not yet known when "Happy New Year" release date will be. However, it might not take that long, since it was already reported that the filming has already started earlier this month.
